I've never knitted lace before, being kind of impatient and enjoying knitting with a glass of wine in hand so have decided to take the plunge with a simple shawl pattern purchased from Ravelry. I took this to Yorkshire with me and managed to knit one point before making an error this morning with the number of yarn overs. I tried and failed to find the mistake and ended up frogging the whole thing....grrrr! Still, practice makes perfect and it's good to learn something new.

This uses up a skein of hand dyed Hand Maiden sock yarn bought in Loop a few months back. I love the colour (pumpkin) and am hoping this will look good with my mainly blue wardrobe!
