Fibre East 2012

The weather held out enough today to visit Fibre East, a festival celebrating British wool and other fibres, at a farm just over the county borders in Bedfordshire. It's a small but great event for anyone interested in knitting and other fibre crafts and supports lots of small independent businesses and rare breeds. The unrelenting rain from yesterday made walking a rather treacherous affair with the mud much worse in the marquees than outside (figure that one out!). It was a real shame and some products were splattered in mud but at least they didn't cancel it like the myriad of other events over the last few weeks. Watching the sheep shearing was fascinating as was seeing the huge differences between the breeds. Have a list of names to check out on Ravelry now too!

Waiting to be sheared.....
