Budget, week 2
It's been much harder to keep to the budget this week. Last week's shop of a little over £49 meant that pretty much every scrap of food has been eaten and the fridge really is bare and there are significant gaps in the cupboard. I knew the first week would be easier as I had a fairly well stocked house, the coming weeks will really test whether we can keep to this (we have too, our financial situation leaves no option). There is no doubt that food prices are considerably more expensive and to keep to a healthy and an interesting diet costs money. This week proved the point as the total came to £58.75, an overspend of nearly ten pounds. This total includes no meat (any meat for this week's menu is from the freezer), no alcohol and is for food only.
