I have to say that I will miss the Olympics (who'd have thought?!). It's been such fun, everyone has been in such a good mood and London has proved that it can be amazing. I'm hoping this will continue through the Paralympics too and hopefully we won't all have some huge national hangover when it's all over and we don't have any more big events to look forward too (and realise how skint we really are!).
Yesterday we had a fantastic day at Hadleigh Farm in Essex, watching the women's mountain biking. The sun was shining, the crowds were huge, the views amazing, the atmosphere awesome and we had a credible hope for a medal in Annie Last. What more could you want for a day out? The athletes themselves were totally awe inspiring and best of all the silver medalist was over 40, hope for me yet!

Tired, sunburnt and happy (no medal for Team GB, so we cheered on the French instead) we ended the day people watching in the station pub before snatching a quick Italian meal and heading home to bed. |
