Paralympics, London 2012

Another great Olympic day, watching the athletics in the Olympic Stadium. What can I say? The crowd was electric, really. People talk about the atmosphere but you have to experience it yourself to believe it. Eighty thousand people cheering, waving flags and LOVING the Olympics and everyone smiling and happy. Honestly, this isn't the norm for London and it's wonderful.

Conveniently, we have close friends living very close to the Olympic Park and finished our day by having a few pints and a pizza at a micro brewery by the canal in Hackney Wick. Well worth a visit if you are in this part of town, very hidden away but great for a relaxed afternoon pint on a sunny day - Crate Brewery. Pizza's, roughly around £10 each and large enough to share, are served simply on wooden boards and come in a range of quirky flavours.

Sweet potato, Gorgonzola and walnut
