Chair repair, not quite as easy as it looks when you have feline *help*
Back in early January I listed re-upholstering my Ercol chair as one of my must-do things for 2016. I bought the chair at an auction for a ridiculously cheap price a few years ago, cheap because it was basically knackered and there is nothing I love more than a project (to pile up with all my others). To date the chair has only been useful for the cat or for younger (and lighter) guests, who were able to perch precariously on the remaining webbing. However, of late, even Sid (who, to be fair, isn't the daintiest cat you may come across) has been seen sliding slowly through the disintegrating seat. Time for action. After much web based research (pun intended) I came across an excellent company that sold webbing, dowels and fitting cord with plenty of online tutorials on how to replace the straps.
What isn't explained however, is just how fiddly it is when you have an attendant cat. If Sid wasn't hanging off the fitting cord, disappearing with a dowel (or batting them under the sofa), or preparing to launch a kamikaze style attack when I least expected it, he was just plain in the way.
Still, we finally got there. Just the cushions next, but Sid, you may be banished once the chair is back to it's former glory!

Looks a very professional job. Please share when you have completed the cushions.
